My story...
Kamila is a native of Baltimore, Maryland. She is the proud mother of Kaylah and devoted wife of Mr. Andre Scott. Kamila is the oldest child of Marilyn Shannon. She received her education in the Baltimore City Public School system, graduating in 1993 from Franklin Senior High School in Reisterstown, MD. Kamila attends the Shiloh Christian Community Church where Rev. Jimmy C. Baldwin Sr. is the Pastor. She is an active member of the Excellent Praise Dance Ministry, where she served as the Assistant Director. In years past, she has served on the Young Adult Usher Board, the Baynard Choir and the Young Adult Ministry as the Assistant Director. She also served and used her gift at Shiloh's Milk & Honey Summer Camp teaching liturgical dance to young girls ages 4-12. Her commitment to the Lord is evident in her service. Kamila ministers throughout the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area at weddings, birthday and retirement celebrations, home-going services and other church related events. She along with the other members of Expressions of Faith, have been showcased in several Kuumba Ensemble productions. For Kamila, dance is not just something to do because everyone is doing it. But she dances “For the Glory of God”. It’s an honor for her to serve the Lord through dance because she knows that God could have chosen anyone else to do the work. God found favor in her and for this, she dances before Him with all of her might! Kamila is known for her calm and cool spirit. She loves to laugh and have fun. Her signature saying is "What's up chic?" that is often followed with a laugh and smile.
